The Atlas has 2,000-5,000lbs of towing capacity. With the standard 2.0-liter engine in control, you’ll be able to haul up to 2,000lbs. But, if you want the more powerful and available 4MOTION® 3.6L V6, your Atlas model will create a towing capacity of 5,000lbs. Both engines could be used for many Volkswagen Atlas trim levels besides the SEL R-Line and SEL Premium R-Line models, that only use the 3.6-liter V6.

The Volkswagen Atlas has 235hp, standard. This is the standard output from the 2.0-liter Turbo 4-cylinder engine that gets coupled with an automatic, and it also produces 258 lb-ft of torque for endless oomph. An optional 276 HP and 266 lb-ft of torque get produced from an available engine.
The Volkswagen Atlas has between a 4,262-4,605lb curb weight. Both the SE with Technology and the SE models add up a curb weight of 4,262 pounds as the models have similar features. The SEL Premium R-Line also has a curb weight of 4,262lbs, the SEL trim level curb weight measures 4,451 pounds, and 4,605 pounds for the Atlas SEL R-Line.
The Volkswagen Atlas ground clearance is 7.1 inches. The amount of clearance stays the same across the board with each Volkswagen Atlas model having 7.1 inches of ground clearance. Great for dealing with any situation and it completes the stylish appearance the Atlas wants.
